Who would benefit from in-depth research?
Ideal for those who are clear about their research objectives and want to have a detailed study of their family history carried out.
What kind of report will you receive?
Our reports are interpretative as well as factual. We seek to build up a profile of your ancestors by examining original documents and microfilm copies in archives and libraries such as the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, the General Register Office of Northern Ireland and the Linen Hall Library.
The Foundation has been offering a full in-depth research service since 1957. It is a market leader in the provision of research services, and our staff who will undertake your research report, collectively have vast research experience, built up over many decades.
Please note that we carry out archival research for the nine counties which make up the historic province of Ulster (Antrim, Armagh, Cavan, Derry/Londonderry, Donegal, Down, Fermanagh, Monaghan, Tyrone).
If you are interested in archival research for another county, please email enquiry@uhf.org.uk for advice before commissioning research online.
How long will it take?
Most in-depth research takes 3-5 months to complete but given the individual circumstances pertaining to the research it can on occasion take longer.
