Creating a Publishing Fund to support our programme for 2021–22
Due to the restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic many of the traditional avenues open to family historians and researchers have been significantly impacted.
With archives closed, much research work, including conferences and courses, cannot take place. But we can publish, and we have been. Plus we plan to do more. See list of new and forthcoming titles planned 2021–22
In the past 6 months we produced a number of new resources for researchers: Researching Presbyterian Ancestors in Ireland, The book of Ulster Surnames, Place names in Ulster, and Colonial Ulster. In the case of the latter two, through the support of your subscriptions and donations.
Plus Family names in the Glens of Antrim is already in production – again made possible through the financial support of many subscribers.
With your support, we would like to establish a Publishing Fund – a ‘ring-fenced’ cash fund that will enable us to publish a growing range of books of benefit to researchers.
A donation from as little as £25+ can help us achieve our goal. If you Gift Aid your donation (for those who pay tax in the UK) we will receive a further 25% from HMRC. And our partner, Irish American Partnership, can help with tax-efficient giving for those who reside in the USA (www.irishap.org/ulster-historical-foundation)
With your donation to our Publishing Fund we hope that 2021 will see even more books released.
“I guess there are never enough books.”
John Steinbeck
