Ulster, America and the Enlightenment: From Feux de Joie to the Belfast Harp Festival.

Wednesday, 27th November 2019, 19:00–20:30.

First Presbyterian Church, 41 Rosemary St, Belfast BT1 1QB.

The Ulster Historical Foundation would like to invite our members, friends and supporters to join us for an ‘enlightening’ evening this November.

Beginning with a drinks reception, the cultural atmosphere of Belfast’s radical ‘Golden Age’ will be ushered in by Belfast harpist Edel Brady who will reprise the traditional airs of the Belfast Harp Festival of 1792. The evening continues with a series of talks by three renowned historians.

Ulster, America and the Enlightenment: From Feux de Joie to the Belfast Harp Festival will explore and celebrate Belfast’s connection to the wider world during the ‘Age of Reason’.

Any proceeds raised from this event will help support the work of the Foundation. A donation of £20 is politely suggested for participants.

For our friends and supporters overseas this event will also be recorded. Make sure you follow our various social media profiles for details on how to watch the event.
