The NHS at 70: The Story of Our Lives initiative is looking for volunteers who they will train to record unique stories of health & social care in Belfast & beyond.
They will be recording the unique stories of anyone who was treated by, worked in or shaped any area of the National Health Service since it launched in NI in 1948.
From matrons or managers, porters to patients, they want to capture people’s NHS stories - and especially stories that are unique to the life and history of Northern Ireland.
This diverse history of the NHS and staff in organisations which work with it will be available in an online archive for future generations.
Their project launched in 2018 with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and they will be collecting people’s stories until 2020. There are already a number of stories online on their website at: nhs70.org.uk
