On Thursday and Friday, our Irish Family History course at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow drew to a close.
We had a fantastic visit to Glasgow's Mitchell Library on Thursday afternoon to see their genealogy collection and archives. We had the opportunity to see their Poor Law Relief records which contain many references to those originally from Ireland, some of us even found individuals who may be related to our own ancestors!
On Friday Chris Paton joined us as our guest lecturer - he spoke on finding Irish ancestors in Scottish records and records for the early twentieth century. It's hard to believe that the course is over, we had a lot of fun and the week went very quickly!
Thanks to all who attended and those who contributed to the course!
