“Major-General Oliver Nugent: The Irishman who led the Ulster Division in the Great War” by Nicholas Perry is the winner of the ‘Best First Book’ category of The Society for Army Historical Research Templer Medal Book Prize for 2020.
The biography explores in detail the life of one of Ireland’s most notable soldiers. To mark this award, the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and the Ulster Historical Foundation (UHF) are delighted to invite you to a conversation with author, Nicholas Perry. Nick will discuss his motivation for writing the book, the challenges he faced, the value of using archives, the publishing process, and the personal satisfaction of winning the Templer Medal.
