Deaths in Skibbereen Workhouse, December 1846

Search Records

Skibbereen in Co Cork was one of the blackspots in the Great Famine of the late 1840s. This fascinating database lists the full names and ages of all 67 inmates who died between December 18th and 30th 1846. The date of entry into the workhouse is also given. By subtracting the age at entry from 1846, we can estimate a date of birth going back into the late seventeenth century.
