Instead of giving a general donation, you may prefer to donate to a particular project or campaign and see directly how your money makes a difference.
Our current campaigns include:
High quality publications are a strength of the Foundation. Limited by capacity and funding leads to missed opportunities to commission and produce pioneering books of direct benefit to the wider public. Additional funding would allow additional publications which would enhance the understanding of Ulster and Irish history and genealogy.
Library Development Campaign
The Foundation has a small but hugely valuable research library. Two recent major donations by supporters have significantly added to our collection and helped to make it a major resource for those searching Ulster ancestors. An annual fund would allow us to maintain adequate storage facilities for our books as well as purchase new and important titles for our library. The fund would also help cover the cost of necessary conservation work.
The Dr Brian Trainor Memorial Lecture is an annual lecture hosted in Belfast and is delivered by an eminent historian of Irish history who may, or may not, be based in an academic institution on this island.
The topic of the lecture will relate to an aspect of Irish history, with a particular focus on archival sources in recognition of Dr Trainor’s huge contribution to developing, preserving and promoting archives.Though the lecture will be delivered to an academic standard, it will be aimed at a general audience in recognition of Dr Trainor’s desire to see archives opened up to everyone.
