The current staff from the Foundation first visited Australia and New Zealand to undertake a genealogical lecture tour in 2017 (our late former Research Director, Dr Brian Trainor, having made a number journeys 20+ years before).
The possibility of a second tour was first broached by supporters in New Zealand in 2019/20 but Covid and all that followed got in the way. About 18 months ago they started to try to plan again and sought to raise funding to cover the costs of our transcontinental air travel and related accommodation/living expenses. They have been able to raise a significant sum already but given the steep increase in international airfares as well as internal travel, accommodation, etc, we still need to raise additional funds to cover the costs of making the tour totally financially viable.
Do you think you can help by making a financial donation?
If you can help with a gift, no matter how small, we would be most grateful. Your gift will help to bring the knowledge and research experience of the Foundation's team to individuals and communities in Australia and New Zealand who may be unable to travel to Ireland in person.
And we hope we might get to meet you at one of the events planned for February/March 2024.
