Members' Area

The Ulster Historical Foundation has been developing a Members' Area and the first stage of this has gone live. To access this you must be a member of the Ulster Genealogical and Historical Guild.

The Members' Area has been developed to provide additional resources for those researching Irish ancestors. It is still under construction and is very much in its infancy. Much more will be added in due course and we would welcome submissions from our members. If you would have something you would like to include in this section of the website email enquiry@uhf.org.uk

Summary of information uploaded to date in the Members' Area

Familia and Directory

The first edition of Familia: Ulster Genealogical Review appeared in 1985 as the successor to the Ulster Genealogical and Historical Guild Newsletter. Its aim was to provide a forum for informed writing on sources and case studies relating to that area where history and genealogy overlap with mutual benefit. The first editor was Kenneth Darwin, formerly Deputy Keeper of the Records (Northern Ireland). He was succeeded in 1994 by Trevor Parkhill, Keeper of History at the Ulster Museum.

Over 160 articles from Familia: Ulster Genealogical Review, 1985-2005, have been uploaded to the Members' Area. For a list of the articles that can be read as downloadable PDFs click here.

In additon the 2003, 2004 and 2005 editions of the Directory of Irish Family History Research have been uploaded.
