Birth, Death and Marriage records for County Antrim and County Down
As an accredited IFHF (Irish Family History Foundation) centre, Ulster Historical Foundation has compiled this database of birth, death and marriage records for Counties Antrim and Down as part of our commitment to broadening access to genealogical and historical data.
This database contains records entrusted to us by all major Christian religious denominations. As this information was given to us in good faith, Ulster Historical Foundation must insist that these records and this search mechanism are used for genealogical purposes only. Please respect the wishes of the churches and the rights of those individuals, and their families, named in these records. Use of this database is restricted to individuals (or their appointed agents) searching for named ancestors.
With the introduction of a new searching system and the addition of new data there will unfortunately be some disruption for those who have purchased records in the last 48 hours and wish to view these again. If you have been affected in this way email heather.graham@uhf.org.uk and we will be able to advise on the records you have purchased. From now on you will be able to view records purchased for up to three months.
* Surname must be entered with a minimum of 3 characters.
** There is no need to complete the ‘Year’ box. However, if no year is entered a maximum of 250 records will be returned. Please note that it is standard genealogical practice to carry out a search centering on the stated year. For the purposes of this search you will be shown all of the matching entries for 5 years before and 5 years after your selected date.
To perform a wildcard surname search enter a % symbol after the first three letters, i.e. mcq% will return all surnames beginning with those three letters e.g. McQuillan, McQuade, McQueen. A wildcard search is automatically performed on a forename. So, for example, if you are unsure if the forename is Mary Ann or Marianne, simply enter Mar to return all possibilities.
For a variety of reasons, such as overlapping registers, there are a number of duplicate records in our databases. If you purchase a duplicate record please email heather.graham@uhf.org.uk and you will be re-credited.
