The Ulster Genealogy & Migration Autumn School is designed for anyone who has an interest in exploring  their ancestry in Ireland’s northern province. The programme includes a variety of talks, tours, presentations and events.

During the week delegates will be taken on a number of outings to sites of historic interest, including Barons Court, home of the Duke of Abercorn, president of the Ulster Historical Foundation, and the historic walled city of Derry. Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit the acclaimed Ulster American Folk Park and step back into a bygone age that their ancestors would have been familiar with. Participants will also be given hands-on asssitance to carry out research for themselves at in the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies and the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland.

No previous knowledge of research techniques or sources is necessary. The Mellon Centre for Migration Studies and Ulster Historical Foundation’s experienced team of researchers will be on hand to assist delegates carry out their research.

Delegates with any special dietary needs or mobility problems should advise us of their requirements on registering so that adequate provision can be made.
